4 golds, 25 total medals for area wrestlers
The 2013 NSAA State Wrestling Tournament is finished for area competitors, and of the 25 athletes who medaled, four brought home gold from the Century Link Center in Omaha.

At 113 pounds, Scottsbluff Sophomore Keegan Hessler is the state champion, after a 5-3 upset win over #1 ranked J.T. Sloboth of Omaha Skutt Catholic.
At 132 pounds, Junior Colton Adams of Scottsbluff set a state record for wins in a season, capturing a 9-3 win over Clay Trejo of Lexington for Gold in Class B. Adams finishes the season 53-1, and passes Luke DeLong of Fillmore Central for most wins in a season, all classes. Adams captured his third consecutive state championship.
At 106 pounds, Sophomore Juan Delacruz of Scottsbluff had to settle for silver, suffering a 10-4 loss to Omaha Skutt Catholic's Brian Peska.
At 152 pounds, Tyson Dowler of Alliance is a state champ, with a 5-4 win over Logan Hunke of Cozad.
And, at 160 pounds, Colby Riesen of Chadron pinned fellow Senior Nick Null of Plattsmouth in 3:27 to capture gold.
Omaha Skutt Catholic won the Class B team race, finishing ahead of Scottsbluff, who settled for second.

In Class B, Baily Hort of Gering was third at 113, Devon Ushio of Alliance was third and Joseph Flores-Ybarra of Scottsbluff fourth at 120, Walker Johnson of Alliance was third at 126, Tyler Smith of Alliance was fourth at 138, Sabian Harsh of Scottsbluff was third at 145, Willy Cogdill of Chadron was sixth at 152, Dawson Johnson of Alliance was fourth at 160, Chance Bila of Chadron was sixth at 170, Tanner Wintholz of Sidney was third at 195, and Andrew Aranati of Scottsbluff was fifth at 285.
In Class C, Drew Gilliland of Mitchell was fifth at 106, Brandon Nichols of Bridgeport was fourth at 138, Brendan Swanson of Mitchell was fifth at 170, and Braydon Widedman of Mitchell was fifth at 182.
In Class D, C.J. Sidrow of Morrill was sixth at 106, Joey Johnson of Hay Springs finished fourth at 132, Tanner Willey of Bayard was fifth at 195, and Stevin Horrocks of Hay Springs was third and David Gifford of Banner County fourth at 220.
