Scottsbluff man sentenced to prison
A Scottsbluff man convicted in a local burglary will serve ten to twenty years in prison. 28 year old Larry Rangel was sentenced by District Judge Leo Dobrovolny for his conviction on charges of burglary and possession of burglary tools.
Rangel, who has a lengthy criminal history, was also found to be an habitual criminal, and received the mandatory minimum sentence of ten years in prison on both charges, although they will be served at the same time.
Court documents indicate Scottsbluff Police officers responded to a reported break-in at 1417 Avenue G around 10:30 a.m on March 7th. Police say a female resident had returned home to find a man inside the home. The woman told Police she confronted the man and he fled in a vehicle described by the victim.
Police quickly located the suspect vehicle as it left the area and took Larry Rangel into custody.
