Only business cited in latest alcohol compliance checks

Only one business failed the latest series of alcohol compliance checks conducted November 16th and 17th by local law enforcement and students with the Monument prevention Coalition.

64 businesses were checked and only K-Mart was found to have sold alcohol to a minor and be in violation. K-Mart had no prior sales to minor violations on record with the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission.

Scottsbluff Police sergeant Phil Eckerberg says they are pleased to see that 98% of the businesses checked passed the compliance checks. Eckerberg also stressed the need for training to all license holders.

Officers with the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's office, Scottsbluff Police and the Nebraska State Patrol worked with ten students under the age of 17 to coordinate the compliance checks.
