Meredith picked for All-Star game

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The NFL Players Association is proud to announce that CAMERON MEREDITH of Nebraska has committed to playing in the 2013 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl. Ben Cotton and Will Compton of the Huskers previously committed to the game.

The defensive end from Huntington Beach, Calif. joins the growing roster of talented draft-eligible seniors competing in the all-star game on Saturday, January 19 at The Home Depot Center on the campus of California State University Dominguez Hills in Carson, Calif.

Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised live on ESPN2. ESPNU will also air live broadcasts from practices on Thursday, January 17.

Meredith was listed on the watch list for the Ted Hendricks Defensive End of the Year Award, which recognizes on-field performance, exceptional winning attitude, leadership abilities, contributions to school and community and academic preparedness. In 2011, he opened the season with a definitive career-high two sacks and an interception to set the Huskers up for a touchdown. His single-game highs of 10 tackles and 8 solo tackles came against then-conference opponent Iowa State in 2010. That season saw him named to the All-Big 12 Second Team.
