Bluffs schools back to normal after brief Lock Out

Bluffs Middle School and Westmoor Elementary in Scottsbluff were both placed on a brief lockout Thursday afternoon due to a personal issue within a family this afternoon. Both schools are now back to business as usual, and Superintendent Rick Myles says students and staff were never in any potential danger. He says the decision to do so was purely precautionary because it was an agitated family situation that might have involved an angry parent.

Myles says these situations are difficult to talk about publicly because they involve very personal situations with a family. Myles said if they think there is an angry parent that may come to the school, they typically will get into a precautionary lockout for a short time.
