Harms: Strong successor is vital

State senator John Harms of Scottsbluff says local leaders need to start thinking about his successor in the Nebraska legislature after he term limits out following next year's session. Harms says it is not too early for people to express interest or begin making plans to run for the seat.

Harms says it is important to have someone that that can voice the panhandle's major concerns, especially regarding water, which Harms says will be a major issue in the next two years. Harms says with the rural area of the state decreasing in population, it is vital that the western end of the state have a strong proponent.
