Sidney man injured in cell tower fall

A Panhandle man was injured in an industrial accident shortly after noon on Wednesday when he fell from a cellphone tower in east-central Iowa west of Dike, which is near the Waterloo-Cedar Rapids area.

The Grundy County Sheriff's Office says 29-year-old Todd Hansel of Sidney was adjusting a ladder between 40 and 60 feet above the ground "when the ladder gave way and pulled Hansel off the tower."

The sheriff's office says Firefighters and an ambulance crew from Dike responded, with Hansel airlifted to Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
