Holsinger goes from journalism to teaching
Long time Star Herald newspaper reporter Roger Holsinger will be leaving the job to explore a desire to teach. His last day at the Star Herald is Friday. He has been hired by the Bayard Public Schools, and in a cooperative agreement through Minatare Public Schools, will be sharing time between the two, teaching english, writing and speech classes. And will also coach the speech teams for both schools and begins this fall.
Holsinger says he really enjoyed working as assistant speech coach at Scottsbluff High School a couple of seasons ago, and loves to work with young people.
Holsinger has a degree in speech, but has been doing online classes through the University of Nebraska at Kearney to receive a transitional teaching certificate. Holsinger worked for the paper for 13 years.
