Monsanto presents grant checks

Local Monsanto sales representative Rich Velde presented $2,500 checks Thursday morning to both Community Christian School and to the Farm & Ranch Museum (Legacy of the Plains).

Katie Bradshaw and Larry Hubbard accepted the check on behalf of the Legacy of the Plains. Board member Levi Umble accepted on behalf of the school.

Bradshaw told students and faculty at CCS that Legacy of the Plains said the check will provide seed money for an exciting student directed history program at Legacy of the Plains. Umble told students about the new school that CCS is planning to build, and how the money will help in securing the materials needed to get construction started.

The $5,000 Monsanto grant was won by Norm and Christy Strong, who then donated $2,500 to Community Christian, and the other $2,500 to Farm & Ranch Museum (Legacy of the Plains).

Speaking on behalf of Monsanto, Velde said their grant program is focused on one goal – strengthening both farming communities and the communities where we live and work.
