Police eyewitnesses to Bluffs burglary
Two local men who were observed by police officers breaking into a Scottsbluff home early this morning are in the Scotts Bluff County jail on burglary charges.
Police Captain Brian Wasson says they first came into contact with 20 year olds Rudy Cabrera of Gering and Jordan Deaver of Scottsbluff when they responded to a disturbance in 2600 block of Avenue C. Police found the two to be intoxicated, uncooperative and it appeared they had been in a fight. They cited them for minor in possession, and transported both to Deaver's house.
Wasson says a short time later as Police were still investigating the disturbance report, they observed Deaver and Cabrera return to a home in the area, forcibly enter it, and leave with items from the residence. The two suspects ran and while searching for them police contacted the burglary victim, who admitted he had a party, but kicked everyone out after a fight outside his home.
Police eventually located Cabrera and Deaver, and recovered a television, play station 3 and a laptop computer believed taken from the home. Cabrera and Deaver are both being held on 10% of $25,000 cash bond pending initial court appearances Friday.
