Earth Day celebration Saturday

Keep Scottsbluff-Gering Beautiful and Panhandle Coop are teaming up Saturday for a celebration of Earth Day, which includes an electronics collection. The electronics collection begins at 10 a.m. and runs through noon in the north parking lot and a small fee may be charged. If you have more than one or two big items, you are urged to go to the city of Scottsbluff's Environmental Services Building at 609 East 2nd Street. They will be taking electronics from 8 a.m. to noon.

Coop will be giving away Cloth bags for a bag full of plastic bags, Platte Valley Bank will conduct document shredding beginning at 10 a.m., there will be a cardboard collection by Docu-Shred, nitrate testing on private well water by the SHS FFA Chapter, and trees will be given away by the North Platte NRD beginning at 10 a.m. An auto battery and propane bottle collection and an 18" and smaller tire collection will take place at Mr. Tire beginning at 10 a.m.

The city of Gering will also conduct a used oil and antifreeze collection at Coop.
