Spencer announces Police promotions
Two 16 year veterans on the Scottsbluff Police department have been promoted following Civil Service Commission testing last month.
Police Chief Kevin Spencer says he is recommending Sergeant Tony Straub's appointment to the Captain position that has been vacant following Spencer's appointment earlier this year as Police Chief. Officer Lee Pinet has been recommended for promotion to Sergeant.
Spencer says the recommendations have been forwarded to City Manager Rick Kuckkahn, who will make the promotions official under Civil Service Commission rules. Spencer says the men are "very capable, very experienced and will do a very good job" in their new positions.
Straub and Pinet will begin working in their new positions September 30th.
