Overlay project pushes forward on Scottsbluff/Gering Highway
Progress continues on a mill and overlay project along a portion of the Scottsbluff Gering Highway. The project extends along 10th Street from Stable Club Road to the river bridge on both sides.
The project began with full curb, gutter and sidewalk replacement. With that portion of the project completed, the milling of the surface layer of asphalt has begun, with work currently underway in the southbound lanes.
Gering Street Superintendent Casey Dahlgrin said in July the project was scheduled to take 55 days. Simon Construction is the main contractor and Infinity Construction as a sub-contractor for the curb, gutter and sidewalk work.
At least one lane of traffic has remained opened each way so far during construction.
