A 24-year old Bayard man already charged with felony child enticement has had three additional felony charges filed against him Wednesday.

Matthew Crable is now charged with three counts of possession of child pornography relating to digital images he possessed last Friday, the same day he was arrested by the Nebraska State Patrol.

Crable was arrested when he showed up in Gering believing he was going to meet a 13-year-old female for sex after sending obscene text messages to an undercover investigator.

In 2011, Crable, who is a registered sex offender, pleaded no contest to a charge of attempted sexual assault of a child. In that case, Crable, then 23, had consensual sex with a 15-year-old girl in his pickup after they drove to a rural part of Scotts Bluff County.

State law prohibits people 19 or older from having sex with anyone under 16 years old.

Crable is being held in the Scotts Bluff County Detention Center on $150,000 bond, and will have a preliminary hearing on October 15th at 9:30 a.m.
