McDonald's celebrates grand reopening

The wait is over. The McDonald's on West 27th street celebrated its grand reopening Sunday.

Overflow crowds filled the new-look store from late morning to mid afternoon hoping for a chance to see Ronald McDonald who made a special trip to Scottsbluff.

"We were pleased with the turnout," owner Christian Miller said. "We thank everyone for coming out. We hope they like the new look."

Ronald McDonald made a surprise visit to the Wal-Mart McDonald's location before his stop at the remodeled store on 27th. He also stopped at the Gering McDonald's before leaving the area. But his main appearance was at the 27th street location where he performed two magic shows, signed autographs, posed for pictures and even helped at the drive through window.

"McDonald's is a great place," he said. "The have outstanding product, and it is always great to see the smiling faces on the kids."

The Scottsbluff/Gering Area Chamber of Commerce had a special ribbon cutting ceremony at 1:00 p.m. And McDonald's on 27th Street will celebrate this coming with specials everyday.
