Walker qualifies for 100 hurdle finals
Scottsbluff High freshman Chesney Walker has been successful in her first year of competition at the high school and that includes track and field.
Walker, competing in her first Nebraska Track and Field State Championship, has qualified for the finals in the 100 hurdles. She finished third in her heat at Burke Stadium in Omaha and qualified fourth overall.
Other area hurdlers were not as fortunate. Marissa Segelke of Sidney, Rylee Hanks of Crawford, Shaela Jenkins of Leyton and Regyn Hicks of Potter-Dix did not move on. In the boys 110 meter hurdles Tyason Dahlgrin of Banner County and Cooper hicks of Potter-Dix did not qualify for the finals.
Scottsbluff's Liz Cunningham did not place in the long jump. She finished one spot ahead of Mitchell's Aspen Reifschneider.
Scottsbluff's Shanell Primes did not qualify for the 100 finals. Morgan Linneman of Sidney also failed to move on Saturday in that event.
In the Class D girls 100 Karissa Brehmer of Garden County and Grace Kotschwar of Potter-Dix both failed to qualify for Saturday action.
