Purchase of loans by Nationstar likely to mean more jobs at Scottsbluff branch
A selloff of mortgage servicing rights by Bank of America earlier this week will likely result in more hiring at the Scottsbluff branch of Nationstar Mortgage. Monday Bank of America said it was selling the servicing rights on $215 billion of loans to Nationstar for $1.3 billion.
The sale to Nationstar was part of an unloading of collection rights on mortgages announced by Bank of America. Walter Investment also bought servicing rights on $93 billion of mortgages for $519 million.
Nationstar currently employs an estimated 325 to 350 people at the Scottsbluff branch. Nationstar officials have so far been unavailable for comment.
