For the second time in five days Scottsbluff outdueled Sidney in boys basketball, downing the visiting Red Raiders Thursday night 79-to-68.

The game was close throughout before the Cats were able to open up the contest at the end.

Michael Hadden scored 11 of his game high 26 points for the Bearcats in the fourth quarter. He added 11 rebounds and was named the KNEB Taco John's Player of the Game.

Eric Moreno had another big night against Sidney. Coming off a 28-point game in the 54-to-50 Scottsbluff win at Sidney Saturday, Moreno added 23 points Thursday.

Mike Klein added 14 for the Bearcats who moved to 14-3 on the year. Sidney dropped to 11-7.

Scottsbluff led 21-to-19 at the end of the first quarter and 38-to-35 at halftime. It was still a three point game at 59-to-56 entering the final stanza.

Scottsbluff outscored Sidney 20-to-12 in the final quarter to pull away.

"I thought Sidney played really well," Tony Siske said after the game. "They shot 56-percent from the field. For our kids to handle that and find a way to win was big."

The sixth year head coach was pleased with the play of Hadden. "He is a very versatile player," he said. "We have to be creative in ways to find him shots and have him be successful since he draws the opposing teams top defender every night.

Siske also liked the play of point guard Klein. Along with his 14 points, he pulled down six rebounds.

Scottsbluff hosts Alliance tomorrow. The game can be heard on the Brand 94.1 and kneb.com. Sidney hosts Gering. That will be a girls and boys doubleheader, also on KNEB-AM 960 and kneb.com.
