Ross jury trial to begin Wednesday
A district court jury trial will begin Wednesday for 32 year old Brian Ross, who is accused of purchasing methamphetamine after being used as a confidential informant in a series of drug cases.
Ross faces felony charges of possession of methamphetamine and attempted 2nd degree assault. Plus, misdemeanor charges of obstructing and officer and willful reckless driving. Ross was sentenced earlier this year to four years probation in a plea agreement regarding the sale of methamphetamine from the front counter of a local restaurant.
Court documents say Ross fled from Wing Drug Task Force investigators March 27th following his purchase of methamphetamine from a woman who alerted authorities that Ross had contacted her. Ross eventually pulled over for the pursuing agents. Ross told investigators he had tossed the baggie containing the drug out the window during the pursuit and authorities were not able to find the baggie after a search of the area where Ross said he got rid of the drug.
The trial begins Wednesday morning at 8:30 in Scotts Bluff County District Court. Ross remains free on bond.
