Friends of the Midwest Theater making leadership changes
The Friends of the Midwest Theater board of directors announced today that Willa Kosman is resigning as Executive Director of Friends of the Midwest Theater effective July 1, 2013. The "Friends" Board also announced the promotion of Billy Estes to the position of Executive Director, effective on the same date. Estes has been General manager of the Theater since 2008.
Board President Dr. Tom Rohrick says "We want to take this opportunity to thank Willa for her work as Volunteer Executive Director of FMT, and her contributions to its success. We have been fortunate to have Willa as our Executive Director." Kosman will remain active in the Organization, working on grants, fundraising and other strategic projects.
Rohrick also emphasized Estes has also been a long-time employee, has demonstrated his dedication to the theater, can take on any challenges and will immediately have a positive impact on operations of the Midwest Theater."
Reporting directly to the Board, Estes will lead the organization in its continuing efforts to provide high-quality presentations of independent and main stream films, performing arts programming as well as accessible arts education and outreach experiences.
Estes said "I am extremely pleased to have this opportunity. I have been working for the theater for over 11 years. This experience has given me a keen insight into the strengths of the theater and its future. "
