REMARKABLE NEBRASKAN AWARD WINNERS:

The Scottsbluff High School Boys Basketball Team won the Class B State Championship. This was the first state championship for the school since 1955.

 

Kent Greenwalt, Mayor of Terrytown, was nominated for going above and beyond for Terrytown, especially during the flooding issues last year. He is involved in many organizations, and donates his time and money to many organizations. Greenwalt also feeds a group of Canada geese at Terry’s Lake on a daily basis.

 

Beth Still is a teacher who has worked relentless to integrate technology into the classroom. She founded the ISTE Newbie Project, which has raised money to send three educators to an annual conference on technology. She also spearheaded a two-day technology boot camp for teachers that will take place this summer, which will bring educators from across the country to Nebraska to expand technology teaching in our area.

 

John Randall is a volunteer for many organizations, and an active member of his church. When his friends, family and neighbors need something, he already has it done before they even have to ask. He volunteers to mow lawns, and walk dogs, and does it in a helpful, cheery attitude.

 

Martin Perales is a tireless advocate for those with special needs. He bowls with Special Olympians, serves students in special education, and helps young adults with disabilities gain independence. Forced to face many difficult circumstances early in his own life, Martin persevered and is committed to helping others.
