UNL Expo Moving to Gering

The University of Nebraska Expo is heading to Gering. For years the UNL Panhandle Research and Extension Center has held their annual public field day at the research station in Scottsbluff. This year the UNL Expo will be held in conjunction with the Harvest Festival September 15 & 16th at the Farm and Ranch Museum. UNL Expo Chair Jeff Bradshaw says FARM is the ideal setting in showing how agriculture and the university's role in the region.

This year's harvest festival will feature dry edible beans, so the university will provide more information on dry beans along with in-field demonstrations. UNL will also have booths showing weeds, pathology, insects and among others. This year 4-H will also be more involved with the Harvest Festival. Since the festival is a family friendly event, Bradshaw this is a great opportunity to get youth to assist activities that are geared toward younger visitors.
