Organizations Pleased with Movement to Farm Bill Conference

The American Soybean Association and National Farmers Union are pleased the House has finally appointed farm bill conferees. ASA President Danny Murphy says it has been a trying process - but ASA commends Speaker Boehner and Minority Leader Pelosi for moving it along to the nex stage. Murphy says it's time to set partisan divides aside and work together to craft a compromise that works for all farmers. NFU President Roger Johnson hopes the conferees consider the needs of all family farmers, ranchers, consumers and hungry Americans throughout its deliberations - ultimately presenting a five-year, comprehensive farm bill with an adequate safety net that can be supported by both houses of Congress and adopted by the President before the end of the year.
