Oleta Halley, 85, Torrington
Oleta Halley, 85, died Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the Mitchell Care Center in Mitchell, Nebraska.
Memorial services will be held at 10 am Saturday, August 18, at the Colyer Funeral Home in Torrington with Reverend Ed Hunzeker officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Mitchell Care Center and/or Prairie Haven Hospice.
Oleta was born in Borger, Texas, July 28, 1927 to Julius and Eva (Dane) Faithtinger. The family later moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico were she attended school. They then moved to the Fresno, California area. She married Lyle Halley July, 29, 1944 in Fresno, California. The couple moved to Limon, Colorado and then to Colorado Springs. In 1962, they moved to the Potter and Sidney area. Oleta worked as a clerk at Safeway for 21 years. In 1985, they moved to Ada, Oklahoma and in 1994, the family moved to Torrington. Lyle passed away in 2006, the couple had been married 62 years.
She enjoyed sewing, yard work, and handwork. Oleta also enjoyed spending time with her family and following her grandchildren. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Torrington.
Survivors include her daughter Lana and her husband John Smith of Ada, OK; her son Ronald and his wife Linda Halley of Torrington; her son Kent and his wife Pam Halley of Mitchell, Nebraska; ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her parents; her husband; and three brothers, Louis, Luther and J.D.
