Harold Foos, 81, Scottsbluff

Harold Foos, 81, of Scottsbluff, went to be with the Lord Sunday, August 19, 2012 at his home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Zion Evangelical Church in Scottsbluff. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Scottsbluff. The United States Navy will provide military honors. Visitation will be held from 1 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, August 21, at Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff. Memorials may be made to Zion Evangelical Church.

Harold was born November 30, 1930 in Gering, to Andrew and Emma (Frickel) Foos. He served in the United States Coast Guard from 1950 to 1953 and during this time he was stationed at Pearl Harbor and Guam. Harold married Helen Dittenber on September 2, 1956 in Mitchell.

Harold worked for Pacific Fruit, Associated Grocers, and was a produce manager for Town and Country. He also owned and operated the Cottonwood Inn and Bluffs Apartments. Harold provided Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for many years to the residents of the hotel and anyone else was always welcome.

Survivors include his wife, Helen, of Scottsbluff; son, Cary of Scottsbluff; daughter-in-law, Maggie of Lincoln, NE; granddaughter, Taylor of Lincoln, NE; many nieces and nephews; several loving sister-in-laws; and one brother-in-law.

Preceding Harold in death were his parents, Andrew and Emma; son, Randall Foos; and brother, Donald Foos.
