James D. Gregg, 69 passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012 in Loveland, Colorado after a short battle with Leukemia.
His graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 30 at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Ed Hunzeker officiating with military honors by the Nebraska Army National Guard. Cremation was held. Memorials can be made to the Scottsbluff Public Library or the Loveland Public Library. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.dugankramer.com. James D. Gregg was born February 19, 1943, in Crawford, NE, the son of Donald W. and Ruth A. (Reed) Gregg. He graduated from Gering High School in 1961. He attended Notre Dame from 1961 through 1965, serving in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1969. He served in the Army Intelligence Division and received the Army Commendation medal for service when he was decommissioned in 1969 and released from active duty as First Lieutenant. He returned to Norte Dame and completed his BS in mechanical engineering. He was a professional engineer with Bechtel Corporation from 1970 until he retired in 2003. He was superintendent and project manager for Bechtel power plant construction throughout the world. He retired to Loveland, Colorado and was a very active golfer who also enjoyed reading
He is survived by his siblings: Barbara Becker, Scottsbluff, NE, Richard Gregg, Scottsbluff and Dr. Jennifer Gregg and husband Paul Sisler of Louisville, KY; nephews and nieces: Jeremy (Kristie) Becker, Scottsbluff, Amanda Becker Libsack (Chad), Morrill, NE and Graham and Evan Sisler of Louisville, KY and great nephew, Issac Libsack.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Janice Gregg and brother Robert Gregg.
