Marilyn L. Curran, 74, Morrill
Marilyn L. Curran, 74, of Morrill, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012 at her home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church in Gering with Reverend Richard Neugebauer officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Morrill. A visitation will be held from 1-7 p.m., Wednesday, August 29, at Jones Mortuary in Mitchell, with a prayer service beginning at 5:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, the Morrill Volunteer Fire Department, or to Prairie Haven Hospice.
Marilyn was born December 29, 1937, in Lamar, Nebraska to Carl P. and Evangline L. (Hawkinson) Wecker. She graduated from Morrill High School in 1956. Marilyn married Gerald W. Curran September 21, 1958 in Morrill and to this union three daughters were born, Linda, Lora, and Diana.
Marilyn worked as a clerk for the Morrill grocery store for over 20 years. She loved her hobby of quilting. Marilyn was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald, of Morrill; daughters, Linda Slater of Greeley, Lora Hampton of Scottsbluff, and Diana (Jim) Harrison of Morrill; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Phylis (Leonard) Bartel of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers, John (Mary) Wecker of Lyman, Robert (Colleen) Wecker of Sidney, and Dennis Wecker of Minatare; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Marilyn in death were her parents; sister, Carolyn Seymour; and great-grandson, Daniel.
