James “Chicano” Richard Lopez Sr., 65, Scottsbluff

James 'Chicano' Richard Lopez Sr., 65 of Scottsbluff passed away Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Regional West Medical Center.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Phil Flott officiating. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 19, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel. Friends may call at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 19, 2012.

A memorial has been established in care of the family.

James was born July 5, 1947 in Harve, Montana to Natividad Lopez Sr. and Maria Guadalupe Melchor.

James was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. James liked to fish when time allowed, travel and enjoyed truck driving.

James is survived by his son, James R. Lopez Jr. and his children, Vincent G., James R. III, and Michael S. Lopez; daughter, Sonia Cervantes and her children, Antoinette E and Nicolette M. Cervantes and Bianca I. Santiago; son, Gabriel Antonio Lopez Sr. and his children Gabriel Antonio Jr., Andrea, and Ashlyn Lopez and Patrick Vasquez; and daughter, Erica Lopez and children; siblings, Guadalupe L. Parris, Natividad (Ellen) Lopez Jr., Rosita (Jose Angel) Jimenez, Pedro Lopez, Juan ( Rachel) Salvador Lopez, Lorenzo (Glenda) Lopez, Carlos (Laura) Lopez, Benita L. ( Armando) Provencio, Adelita L. (Luis) Ortiz, Eva Lopez, and Gerardo Lopez; longtime companion, Isabel Martinez; 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.

James is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Valentine, Meliton and Adan Lopez; and sister Alicia Lopez.
