Royce David Bingham, 79, formerly of Scottsbluff
Royce David Bingham, 79, of Thornton, Colorado, formerly of Scottsbluff, died Saturday (September 8, 2012) at the Balfour Skilled Nursing Care facility in Louisville, Colorado. His funeral mass will be held Friday (September 14, 2012) at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Agnes Catholic Church in Scottsbluff with Father Vince Parsons officiating. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff with Military Graveside Rites given by the Nebraska Army National Guard. A Rosary will be recited Thursday (September 13, 2012) at 7:00 p.m. at the Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff. Memorials have been established to the Church or to Prairie Haven Hospice.
Royce was born September 25, 1932 at Council Bluffs, Iowa to Harry and Alyce (Grundmeier) Bingham. The family moved to Scottsbluff in 1934 where he grew up and graduated from Scottsbluff Senior High School. He then attended Scottsbluff Junior College for two years. Royce enlisted in the military where he served his country with the United States Army from 1952 until 1955. He was stationed in Panama, Central America, where he met and married Ana Maria Rodriguez on October 3, 1954 in Panama. They moved back to Scottsbluff in 1955 and had three children, Harry, Gregory, and Laurie. He worked at Bingham Distributing for his father until his retirement in 1990. He loved fishing, hunting, and being with his family.
He is survived by his wife Ana Maria Bingham of Thornton, Colorado; daughter Laurie (Brian) Hoff of Thornton, Colorado; grandchildren Adam (Emily) Hoff of Yulee, Florida, Amy Hoff of Crestview, Florida, Drew Hoff of Westminster, Colorado, and Dain Hoff of Thornton, Colorado; and great granddaughter Hadyn Hoff of Yulee, Florida.
Royce was preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved sons, Harry and Greg.
