Maxine "Mackie" Brown, 59, Scottsbluff

Maxine "Mackie" Brown, 59, of Scottsbluff, died Friday, June 8, 2012 at Heritage Estates in Gering. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Scottsbluff with Father Vince Parsons and Father Marty Egging as Celebrants. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park in Scottsbluff. Visitation is scheduled Monday from 11am until 7pm with a Rosary following at Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff. Memorials in Mackie's honor may be made in care of the church.

Mackie was born October 29, 1952 in Scottsbluff, NE to Donald L and Alberta (Janicek) Brown. She attended Banner County grade school then moved to Scottsbluff in 1965 and attended St. Agnes Catholic School and graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1971. She went to college on a golf scholarship at Odessa Junior College in Odessa, TX. Over the years, she worked for various companies doing bookkeeping. She worked in Seattle, WA for 10 years before moving back to Scottsbluff and working for Aurora Loan Services, and doing the bookkeeping for her brothers trucking company and residing with and caring for her mother.

Mackie loved to play cards, bingo, and go to Prairie Winds Casino. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and past member of the Altar Society. She loved spending time with her family and friends and will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

She is survived by her mother Alberta Brown; brothers Richard J. (Janice) Brown, Randall L. Brown and friend Carolyn Anderson, and Robert G. Brown; niece Stephanie (Gene) Merrill; great nephew Jaxson Brown and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Her grandparents Joe (Elizabeth) Brown and Albert (Helen) Janicek, father Donald Brown and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins preceded her in death.
