Ruth A. McLaughlin, 75, Lyman

Ruth A. McLaughlin, 75, of Lyman, passed away Monday, September 10, 2012 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2012 at the Jones Mortuary in Mitchell with The Very Reverend Gary Young officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Visitation will be held from 1-7 p.m. Thursday, September 13 at the Jones Mortuary in Mitchell. Ruth was born November 27, 1936 in Holland, Missouri to Lloyd and Alma (Richardson) Channell. She attended school in Grandin, Missouri. Ruth married Jack McLaughlin on October 6, 1956 in Yuma, Arizona and to this union three sons were born: Michael, Daniel, and Samuel.

Ruth worked various jobs throughout her life, but most importantly she was a wife, mother, and grandmother. She adored all of her grandchildren and welcomed her three step-grandchildren as her own. Ruth had a special love for animals. She would talk about them for hours and especially had a close bond with her dogs, Buddy and Gizmo.

Survivors include her husband, Jack, of Lyman; sons, Michael (Carla Hatfield-McLaughlin) of Morrill, Daniel McLaughlin of Virginia Beach, VA, and Samuel (Beth) McLaughlin of Lusby, MD; three grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren

Preceding Ruth in death were her parents; and three sisters, Melba Jean Smith, Faye Boyer, and Dixie Kackley.
