Ruth Schmidt, 82, Scottsbluff
Ruth Schmidt, 82, of Scottsbluff, passed away Friday, August 10, 2012 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 15, at Zion Evangelical Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Garry Schick officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. A visitation will be held from 1-7 p.m. Tuesday, August 14, at Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff. Memorials may be made in care of the family and will be designated at a later date.
Ruth was born February 2, 1930 in Scottsbluff to Conrad and Emma (Kraft) Schmidt. She attended grade school at Brown's Canyon and graduated from Liberty High School. Ruth worked in food service, healthcare, and also worked as a seamstress. Her hobbies included crafts, needlework, canning and gardening.
Survivors include sisters, Rosaline (Albert) Ruppel and Betty (Don) Knaub both of Scottsbluff; nieces and nephews, Cheryl (Mike) Kembel of Scottsbluff, Cindy (Jon) Brunner of Gering, Charlotte (Mike) Clements of Scottsbluff, Kerry Knaub of Parker, CO, Shelly (Dan) Chromy of North Platte, Kim (Rich) Riddick of Gering, and Corey Johnson; 12 great nieces and nephews; and 10 great great nieces and nephews.
Preceding Ruth in death were her sisters, Bernice, adopted sister, Delpha (Charles) Johnson and infant sister, Emma; great nephew, Jeremy Brunner; and great great niece Chantal Dolberg.
