Melody Kay Brown, 54, Mitchell

Melody Kay Brown, 54, of Mitchell passed away Friday, May 18, 2012 at the Mitchell Care Center. Melody's request was to be cremated and there will be no services held. Melody was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on July 25, 1957 to Carl and Mary Jane (Patterson) Brown. She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1975. She was married to Michael Hubbard for several years and later divorced. She worked for many years as a store clerk within the community.

Melody, our mom, was a very strong willed lady who enjoyed taking care of her 5 children all her life and always did anything for anyone. She struggled through a lot in life but always managed to keep her head up as it was always about everyone else and not her. Through life's trials and tribulations there was no stopping her as she kept holding on.

Melody is survived by her 5 children, daughters, Cara DeBusk, Hilary Adams, and Michelle McBirney; sons, Jim Hubbard and Josh Hubbard; her parents, Carl and Mary Jane Brown of Mitchell; brother, Rodney Brown; sisters, Diane Yekel , Martha Pierce and Rhonda Brown. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren. Melody will truly be missed by all.

Melody is now in heaven with the angels and at peace where she is preceded by both sets of grandparents and a nephew.
