Max Claud Murray, 83
Max Claud Murray, 83, died September 4, 2012 at Colorado University Hospital in Aurora, after suffering cardiac arrest at the Denver airport. His memorial service will be held at 10am on Monday, Sept 10, 2012 at Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff with Pastor Ed Hunzeker officiating.
Inurnment will be at Fairview Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Army National Guard. Memorials may be made in care of the Max Murray Memorial Fund. Max was born on June 22, 1929 in Dunning Nebraska to Clifford Claud and Grace Elvira Prosser Murray. Max lived in Central Nebraska and moved with his family to Hemingford Nebraska where he worked on the Box Butte Reservoir Project when he was18. He joined the army in 1949 and served in England until 1953. After his honorable discharge from the Army, Max worked for Swift Packing Company in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and transferred to the Glenwood Iowa Swift Company when the Scottsbluff plant was closed. He retired in 1994.
After retirement Max lived in Plattsmouth Nebraska until 2000 and then he moved to Scottsbluff where he resided with his brother Larry until his death. Max loved fishing, puzzles, Nebraska Football, Lakers Basketball, and Cerritos College Softball, Max was very kindhearted and had a special place in his heart for all little children. Max was loved by everyone who met him. This very special man will be missed every day by those who shared his life.
Max is survived by Son, James C. Murray and grandson, James E. 'Jamie' Murray. Brothers, Lawrence Clifford Murray; Orlin Leroy 'Bud' Murray and Dori and children Roc Murray and Debbie and Michael Murray and Noelle and Scott Murray; Kodee Murray; Ric Murray; and Rake Murray and Marianne and Chris, Ella Grace and John. Sisters, Verna Louise Hibbs and son Steve and children; Beulah Maxine Betz and children, Linda Ainslie and Dennis and daughter Sarah Hessler and Matt and 3 children and 1 grandchild; Carol Cushing and Tony and children, Tony Cushing and Pricilla and 2 children and Angie Keller and 2 children and Ginger and two children. His brother Murph's family, Patricia Kay Bourquin and Robb and children Veronica Hancock and J.C. and 3 children, James B Bourquin and Tressie and 2 children. His sister Thelma's family, Shirley Inez Duncan and children, Donette Parrott and Matthew and 2 children, Melissa Jones and 5 children; John David WrightII and 2 children, Raymond Wade Wright and 2 children. Patsy LaVern Pollat and Roger and children, Ardel Jorge Peterson and Shannon and 2 children and DeDe Mere` Peterson and 4 children; Daniel Ray Jones and Donna and children Sara Danielle McCalister and one child, and Curtis Ray Jones; Rebecca Lynn Blakeman and Randy and children Jamie Sue Worman and Phil and 5 children, Heidi Danielle Humpall and Brad and 2 children, and Brooke Lynn Smelek and Toby and 2 children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Maurice James 'Murph'; sisters, Thelma Pauline Jones and Winifred Fisher.
