Gladys was born December 7, 1924 in Percival, Iowa the daughter of Albert and Flora (Vincent) Anderson. The family lived in several places in Iowa and Nebraska before moving to Wyoming where she finished her schooling at Veteran High School. She married Ernest Douglas in 1942 who was killed in a farm accident in 1947. To this union three sons were born. She later married Roy Bowdish in 1949 and a daughter was born to this marriage. The family farmed in the Wheatland and Douglas Wyoming area many years before settling in the Lingle, Wyoming area. Gladys enjoyed farm life and did many outdoor chores and helped harvest the crops. Gardening and preserving the produce were a passion of hers as were the baby chicks she purchased every spring. She loved to cook and bake and visitors were always welcome to share her meals.
Gladys' children and grandchildren brought her great happiness and all have fond memories of her. Her gifts of crocheted items are cherished by us all.
Gladys is survived by two sons Ernie (Donna) Douglas of Wheatland, Wyoming, and Bill (Josephine) Douglas of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a daughter Jean (Bruce) Good of Lingle, Wyoming; a brother David Anderson of Pine Bluffs, Wyoming; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Ernest Douglas; a son George Douglas in 2000; a grandson Tyler Douglas in 1976; three brothers Albert, Walt, and Tom; and her second husband Roy Bowdish in September of 1989.
