Dubas drops out of Governor race

State Senator Annette Dubas announced her withdrawal from the Nebraska Governor's race this morning. Citing difficulty in balancing family matters, her legislative constituents and her campaign for Governor, Dubas said something had to give.

Dubas said she was fully committed to running a successful campaign that was focused on people, but said even with their best laid plans, it became harder and harder to balance the race with her family and her legislative agenda.

Dubas says her exit from the race does not mean she is any less committed to the important issues facing Nebraskans. She told reporters in front of the State Capitol this morning that she will continue to work hard in the next legislative session to address concerns surrounding property taxes and how they impact all hard working Nebraskans. She plans to work to move Medicaid expansion forward, and will work to fix ACCESS Nebraska so that state employees can work efficiently and compassionately.

Dubas thanked her husband and family, friends, collegues, campaign and legislative staff and everyone who gave generously to her campaign.
