Man charged with 5 felonies in threat case

A 32 year old Ashby, Nebraska man who had previously spent a year in prison on terroristic threat charges has been arrested and charged with five felonies after allegedly threatening a former girlfriend who is also the mother of his child in Scottsbluff.

According to court documents, police were dispatched to a residence on Avenue Z in Scottsbluff on February 9th after Casey Sutton allegedly threatened to shoot Holly Weaver, her brother Joshua and two other individuals while brandishing a black handgun.

Sutton is a convicted felon having been sentenced to a year in prison from the Grant County District Court. He is being charged with 2 counts of terroristic threats, a class IV felony, 2 counts of using a firearm to commit a felony, a class 1C felony, and 1 count of being a felon or fugitive in possession of a firearm, a class 1D felony.

Sutton will have a preliminary hearing on March 11th at 10 a.m. He is being held in the Scotts Bluff County jail in lieu of $250,000 bond.
