UP Foundation grants money to United Way of Western Nebraska

The Union Pacific Foundation is granting $5,000 to the United Way of Western Nebraska as part of $1 million dollars being distributed to 36 nonprofit organizations in Nebraska.

United Way of Western Nebraska Executive Director Steph Black says the agency is very grateful for the donation and it will be applied to the 2013 general campaign.

Robert Turner, Union Pacific senior vice president of Corporate Relations and Union Pacific Foundation President said that supporting these charitable organizations helps them continue to play important roles in improving the communities where UP employees live and work. He said they are proud to make a positive contribution to building strong, sustainable communities across UP's railroad network.

For more than 50 years, these grants have benefited community, cultural and health and human services organizations.
