Alliance woman sentenced to probation and restitution in theft case

An Alliance woman has been ordered to repay nearly $3,000 that she stole from the Alliance Cattle Capitol Rodeo Committee.

Wednesday morning, Box Butte County District Court Judge Travis O'Gorman also ordered 40-year-old Tera Gasseling to serve 18 months of supervised probation. At the request of Box Butte County Attorney Kathleen Hutchinson, the judge also ordered Gasseling to have the restitution, which totals $2,971, to be paid in full by the time her probation period ends, or she could face a more serious penalty.

The theft occurred between January 1, 2011 and March 14, 2012.
