Most warning sirens work during drill

The test of the area's tornado sirens went well today, except in a couple places. Scots Bluff County Emergency Management Director Jerry Bretthauer says the sirens worked as planned in Scottsbluff and Gering, but there were issues in Terrytown and Banner County.

Bretthauer says Banner County's monthly tests are done manually, but this test was done with an electronic tone, so there may be a problem with that. They are still determining what the problem is in Terrytown.

Bretthauer reminds residents the sirens are outdoor warning devices, so if you want to be alerted of possible sever weather inside, you need to pay attention through radio, a weather radio, or television.
