Pilkington returning from Miss America

Miss Nebraska JaCee Pilkington is on her way home today after competing in the return of the Miss America pageant to Atlantic City.

The new Miss America is the second consecutive New York beauty queen to win and the first of Indian descent. Pilkington says she will provide the diversity that was part of the pageant competition.

Pilkington says the highlight of the pageant for her was the "Show me your Shoes" parade Saturday. The parade returned this year with the move of the pageant to Atlantic City and a quarter million people were in attendance. Pilkington says it was like being in the Macy's Parade in New York on Thanksgiving.

Pilkington wore a Nebraska Cornhusker cheerleader outfit for the event. She said the parade was also physically taxing on the contestant's legs and hips as they had their legs raised in the air for the entire parade.

Pilkington will now complete her year as Miss Nebraska, and also work in the Attorney General's office part-time.
