Chadron State College senior Megan Dimmitt of Alliance is getting used to wearing a crown, especially this week.
Dimmitt was crowned Chadron State's homecoming queen Thursday, Oct. 25, just days after winning the title of Miss Northwest during the Miss Chadron-Miss Northwest Scholarship Pageant on Sunday, Oct. 21.
Another senior from northwest Nebraska, Donald Hlava of Gordon, topped the vote-getters for king to share the spotlight with Dimmitt on Thursday.
The queen, a Chadron State cheerleader, is a graduate of Alliance High School studying criminal justice. She was nominated by the Criminal Justice Club. By winning the Miss Northwest title this weekend, she earned her third trip to the Miss Nebraska competition.
Hlava, a graduate of Gordon-Rushville High School, is pursuing a major in business administration. He was nominated by the College Republican's Club.
