Valarie Ann Murillo, 57, Gering
Valarie Ann Murillo, 57 of Gering, Nebraska passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Friday, June 14, 2013 at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colorado.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church with Fr. Gerald Harr officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Family requests casual dress attire. A vigil service will be Friday, June 21, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. at the church. Visitation will be Friday at Gering Memorial Chapel from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Inurnment will be Saturday, June 29, 2013 at West Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established and donations may be sent to the family.
She was born November 28, 1955 in Scottsbluff to Val and Mary Lou Murillo, the eldest daughter of twenty children. Her early education included: St Agnes in Scottsbluff, then Gering Public Schools, graduating in 1975.
Her first employment was at the Gaslight Restaurant, then Scottsbluff Country Club until she became ill.
She never married, she lived with her parents helping them in many ways.
Valarie was a very loving, self-giving person-always looking out for others before herself.
Her favorite past times included cooking, baking, enjoyed music, dancing, reading, art, singing, TV and movies.
Though she had no children of her own they were drawn to her and she loved them dearly.
She was an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church, serving her Lord as a Eucharistic Minister, member of Ladies Guild and the choir for many years.
She is survived by her parents, twelve sisters, seven brothers, eight in-laws, twenty-two nieces and twenty-two nephews, ten great nephews and nieces and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Valarie was preceded in death by both paternal and maternal grandparents, five nephew and nieces, one great niece and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
