Dennis Farrar, 71, Gering

Dennis Farrar, 71, of Gering, died Friday, August 30, 2013 at Morrill County Community Hospital in Bridgeport. His Celebration of Life service will be held at 10am on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Jolliffe Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Birch officiating. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of any flowers, memorials in Dennis's honor be made to Alcoholic's Anonymous or Panhandle Humane Society. Dennis was born in Hershey, NE on April 27, 1942. He attended and graduated from Kearney High School and attended college at WNCC. He worked various jobs in the Scottsbluff/Gering area, lastly owning/operating Farrar Fire Extinguisher Company for the last 30 years.

Dennis was an avid Harley Davidson man; anything and everything Harley. He loved antique clocks, animals; especially his dogs Scamp and Radar and his cat Bob. He enjoyed spending time with his loving family and friends.

He is survived by his son Shawn Farrar of Gering, son Breck Farrar and partner Tracy Grasz of Lexington, OK; sister GayAnn (Garry) Loose of Scottsbluff; brother Bruce (Kris) of Westminster, CO; grandchildren Harley Farrar and Miranda and Heather Taylor; stepson Rick (Kari) Taylor of Thornton, CO; special niece Sarah (Raul) Flores of Gering and their children Bailie and Alex; and numerous other nieces and nephews and a host of good friends.

His grandparents, parents, and wife Claudetta preceded him in death.
