Torrington couple arrested for causing the Guernsey State Park fire

A Torrington couple whose open campfire got out of control, causing the Guernsey State Park fire earlier this month , are being held on $7,500 cash bond after their arrest on charges of third degree arson. Ann Schultz and Thomas Dean Pierson, both 36, are accused in the fire that consumed more than 2,000 acres.

The fire started on the east side of Guernsey Reservoir. There was a fire ban when the couple set their campfire. Schultz and Pierson are being held in the Platte County Detention Center in Wheatland pending a county court date.
