A 48 year old Bridgeport man says he can't remember much about a strange accident early this afternoon in Gering. Police say Shawn Berry's car veered off M Street, took out a tree in a yard and then carried the tree into the Runza Restaurant parking lot. Police say Berry's car hit three other cars in the parking lot and the tree hit another vehicle, but there were no injuries because the owners of the vehicles were in the restaurant.

Police say Berry was eastbound on M Street when the car went off the road at Schlothauer's Dentistry, went through the front yard of Wills Chiropratic, and jumped a retaining wall. The 2006 Chrylser van then clipped one tree in a residential yard before hitting another head-on, taking the tree out and pushing it into the restaurant parking lot across 13th Street.

Berry was in a daze when talking to KNEB News, saying he couldn't remember anything about the accident until the air bags deployed. Gering Police say they don't believe alcohol or drugs were involved.

The accident happened shortly before 1 p.m.
