Chadron Police in two hour standoff Saturday morning

Chadron Police were in a two hour standoff early Saturday morning with an armed man threatening suicide. Police say they responded to a home in the 200 block of Bourdeaux Street where 21 year old Trenton Rattler was armed with two eleven inch martial arts knives threatening to cut and kill himself.

The press release says Police were able to talk Rattler into giving up the two knives and he was taken into protective custody around 6 a.m.. Rattler was transported to the Chadron Hospital for evaluation.

The Dawes County Sheriff's department, the Nebraska State Patrol, and the Chadron Fire Department assisted police during the incident.
