Norman E. DeMott, 75, Torrington
Norman E. DeMott, 75, of Torrington, Wyoming passed away Thursday, November 29, at his home.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Central Church of Christ in Gering, where he was a life long member. Pastor Ken Beauchene of Torrington, Wyoming will officiate.
A memorial has been established to Gering Volunteer Fire Department and Torrington Volunteer Fire Department.
Norman was born March 15, 1937 in Gering, Nebraska to Norman R. "Buzz" and Eleanor (Graham) DeMott. He attended Gering Public Schools and graduated from Gering High School.
Norman married Sharon Hardt November 17, 1959. She passed away June 15, 1994. On September 23, 1995 Norman married Barbara M. (Morgan) French and they made their home in the Torrington area.
Norman was the Manager of the Goshen Irrigation District for a number of years. He was a member of the Gering Volunteer Fire Department Old Timers Club and was on the Gering City Council for twelve years.
Norman is survived by his wife of seventeen years, Barbara; son, Jim (Beth) of Torrington; daughters, Terri (Tom) Lovell of Torrington, Laura (Don) Newcomb of Gilbert, AZ; step-children, David (Angie) French of Magnolia, TX and Linda (Alan) Heilbrun of Gering; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Clayton (Linda) DeMott of Gering ; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Norman in death are his parents and a nephew.
