Bluffs man arrested for neighborhood pursuit

A Scottsbluff man who led Police on a pursuit through a west Scottsbluff neighborhood Friday has been charged with six misdemeanor counts.

Court documents indicate Scottsbluff Police attempted to stop 27 year old Johnny Alsidez at West 21st street and Avenue F for driving under suspension when the vehicle took off. The documents say Alsidez at one time was going through a residential neighborhood on Avenue G at over 60 miles per hour before the blue Dodge Durango crashed in a yard near West 24th Street and Avenue G and the suspect fled on foot.

The documents say Alsidez jumped a couple fences, punched a woman twice after she spotted him hiding in her shed and was eventually apprehended in the backyard of 2510 Avenue F. Police later learned the vehicle had been stolen.

Alsidez entered not guilty pleas to unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, obstructing a police officer, third degree assault, driving under suspension and criminal mischief.

Alsidez is being held in the Scotts Bluff County Jail on a $100,000 bond with a ten percent cash provision. Alsidez also plead not guilty to a second charge of driving under suspension regarding a June citation.
