Yukio Sakurada, 90, Lyman

Yukio Sakurada, 90, of Lyman, died Sunday, April 28, 2013 at his home. His memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Holy Apostles Episcopal Church in Mitchell, with Reverend Carol Ann Bullard officiating. Inurnment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Scottsbluff. His remains were cremated and there will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to Prairie Haven Hospice, Holy Apostles Episcopal Church or to the donor's choice. Jones Mortuary in Mitchell is assisting the family with the arrangements. He was a life- long member of the Episcopal Church and had served on the Vestry at Holy Apostles Episcopal Church.

He is survived by his wife Mae of Lyman, his son Rick (Jane) Sakurada of Kapolei, HI, and his daughter Linda (Paul) Ybarra of Arvada, CO, his grandchildren Darren (Danielle) Sakurada of Brighton MA, Mark Sakurada of Las Vegas, NV, Chris Sakurada of San Francisco, CA, and Christina Ybarra and Victoria Ybarra, both of Arvada, CO, and one great grandson Nathaniel. He is also survived by his brothers Masami (Dorothy) Sakurada of Ft. Collins, CO, Neil (Catherine) Sakurada of Bayard, Kenneth (Kimi) Sakurada of Reno, NV, Leonard Sakurada of Scottsbluff and Fred (Nancy) Sakurada of Morrill, his sister Hisaye "Pete" Okamoto of Morrill , his godchildren Brian Sakurada of Overland Park, KS, Miriam Cake of Lakewood, CO, Christine Sakurada of Ft. Collins, CO and Michael Sakurada of Reno, NV, and numerous nieces and nephews.

His parents, brothers Shogi and Shizuo Sakurada, sisters Miyeko Tateyama and Kazuye Sakurai , an infant brother, three brothers in law and two sisters in law preceded him in death.
